PRECISION SEEDING AND FERTILIZING WITH VARIABLE RATE AND SECTION CONTROL

Case IH AFS section and rate control lets you put seed, fertilizer and other inputs where you want them and ONLY where you want them. Reduced overlaps and more precise placement allow you to save on inputs, improve agronomic performance and lower overall costs.

VARIABLE RATE CONTROL

Variable rate application is usually based on a pre-defined map that has been created by an agronomist and is based on the soil quality of the field. Technologies such as maps, sensors, artificial intelligence (AI), drones and satellite data are used to determine these application maps. As an example, for some crop types, more seeds are planted in places where water and nutrients are higher. It is commonly used for fertilizer application but can also be used for seeding and weed control.

SECTION CONTROL

Section Control is a GNSS-based technology that automatically turns implement sections on and off to reduce overlap in previously applied or unwanted areas (e.g. waterways and headlands). This does not only reduce operator stress, improve your efficiency but also save input costs and minimize nutrient competition between the plants, which results in higher yields.

COMBINED BENEFITS

  • Savings in inputs such as seeds, fertilizer and pesticides without over-planting
  • Potential yield increase and improved crop quality due to a site-specific and balanced application of seed and fertilizer
  • Environmental protection by avoiding over-fertilization
  • Simplified operation for the driver as the optimum application rate is automatically applied to the correct part of the field.

COMPATIBILITY

Section and Rate Control are compatible with many ISOBUS implements in combination with our AccuGuide (factory equipped Case IH machines or as retrofit) and aftermarket XCN-750, XCN-1050 and XCN-2050 guidance solutions.
